Q: What is Flight Bag Pro?

A: Flight Bag Pro is the new business aviation electronic flight bag solution for Apple iPad from Honeywell GoDirect Flight Services. Our app allows pilots to create and file flight plans (U.S. Domestic and International), calculate and select aircraft cruise mode performance, calculate ETPs and ETOPs, calculate aircraft runway analysis & weight and balance (requires an active APG subscription), view and download weather charts, research airport information, view approach plates and more!

Q: When will Flight Bag Pro be available?

A: Flight Bag Pro is available right now in the Apple App Store.

Q: How do I get Flight Bag Pro?

A: To use Flight Bag Pro, you must download the app from the Apple App Store, create a Honeywell ID and purchase/own a subscription for GoDirect Flight Services. To purchase subscriptions for your flight department, please contact GoDirect Sales using the form at the bottom of this page.

Q: How much does Flight Bag Pro cost?

A: We have various subscription plans depending on the number of aircraft in your fleet and whether your flight department requires access to Runway Analysis and Weight & Balance calculations. To inquire about pricing, please contact GoDirect Sales using the form at the bottom of this page.

Q: How do I buy a subscription for Flight Bag Pro?

Q: What devices and operating systems does Flight Bag Pro support?

A: Flight Bag Pro supports Apple iPad devices capable of installing iOS 9.0 and higher. We recommend iPad Mini 2 or higher, iPad 3 or higher, iPad Air 2 or higher, and iPad Pro models.

Q: How many devices can I use my subscription on?

A: You may install and use Flight Bag Pro on as many devices as you need, as subscriptions are purchased for each unique aircraft tail number.

Q: How can I purchase more subscriptions?

A: To purchase additional Flight Bag Pro subscriptions for new aircraft tail numbers, please contact GoDirect Sales using the form at the bottom of this page.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?

A: To cancel or transfer an active Flight Bag Pro subscription, please contact GoDirect Flight Supportto have a member of our accounts team assist you.

Q: How do I manage Flight Bag Pro data usage on my device?

A: You can easily manage all downloaded content for Flight Bag Pro on the Downloads screen, which also provides a graph that displays how much data is being used. This screen allows you to download navigational data, airfield data, airport information and more for offline viewing. Every 28 days, some of this data must be re-downloaded to coincide with the AIRAC cycle. However, you can quickly delete any of this data from the Downloads screen. However, please note that this data management is not related to network data use while in flight.

Q: Can my flight department get training for Flight Bag Pro?

A: Absolutely! Our friendly and knowledgeable staff can quickly and easily train your pilots on how to use Flight Bag Pro. Simply contact GoDirect Customer Support to check availability or schedule a training session.

Q: Can I use Flight Bag Pro without an internet connection?

A: For best results, it is recommended to use Flight Bag Pro with an active internet connection to stream high resolution satellite terrain data and weather overlays. However, Flight Bag Pro may be used in offline mode with several features being unavailable such as: flight planning (creating, editing, filing, etc.), weather and weather chart updates, and airport information updates. Any data that has been saved for offline usage is available.

Q: Is Flight Bag Pro supported outside the United States?

A: Yes, Flight Bag Pro can be used to plan and file worldwide flight plans.

Q: Why was Flight Bag Pro launched?

A: After several years of supporting the myGDC iPad app, we really wanted to expand the capabilities and improve the overall workflows in the product. However, we soon realized we needed a clean slate to allow us to easily add new features and functionality. We also spent a significant amount of time with business aviation professionals and you, our valued customers, to learn how we could improve the core product. The results of this effort culminate in Flight Bag Pro.

Q: What aircraft does Flight Bag Pro support?

A: Flight Bag Pro supports most aircraft makes and models used in business aviation. To see if your aircraft is supported, please contact GoDirect Sales using the form at the bottom of this page.

Q: Can I calculate aircraft performance with Flight Bag Pro?

A: Yes! Flight Bag Pro allows you to calculate the cruise mode performance of your aircraft using wind models and other data; allowing you to select the best cruise based on saving time, money, or both.

Q: Can I perform runway analysis and weight & balance calculations with Flight Bag Pro?

A: Yes, depending on your Flight Bag Pro subscription level, the APG (Aircraft Performance Group)runway analysis and weight & balance tool is included and can be used directly within the app when creating your flight plan. You can perform calculations as a standalone activity or integrated directly with your flight planning activities.

Q: Can I get updated weather while in flight? Is XM or ADS-B weather supported?

A: In-flight weather can be viewed only when on a Wi-Fi-enabled internet connection, such Honeywell JetWave™ and Jet ConneX. Currently, Flight Bag Pro does not support XM or ADS-B weather, however, we will have support for ADS-B in a future release of the app.

Q: What GPS devices does Flight Bag Pro support?

A: Currently, Flight Bag Pro supports the Bad Elf GPS Pro, Bad Elf GPS Pro+, Dual XGPS 150A, and Dual XGPS 160 devices.

Q: Does Flight Bag Pro have a moving map?

A: Yes! Flight Bag Pro displays a moving map when flying a route using the En Route (Go Fly) mode.

Q: Will Flight Bag Pro receive frequent updates?

A: Yes! We have worked hard to create Flight Bag Pro and have feature releases planned for the next 2 years and beyond.

Q: How do I provide feedback for Flight Bag Pro?

A: You can provide feedback directly within the Flight Bag Pro app by tapping the Contact Us button in the Settings screen, or by contacting GoDirect Customer Support using the form at the bottom of this page.

Q: What should I do if cannot get signed in to Flight Bag Pro?

A: If you cannot sign in to Flight Bag Pro, please contact GoDirect Customer Support.

Q: I am having problems installing Flight Bag Pro

A: First, verify your iPad meets our recommended requirements. If you are still having issues, please contact GoDirect Customer Support.

Q: Does Flight Bag Pro have Synthetic Vision?

A: Currently, Flight Bag Pro does not include Synthetic Vision, however, we plan to include this popular feature in a future release of the app.

Q: Why is Honeywell discontinuing the myGDC iPad app?

A: After several years of supporting the myGDC iPad app, we really wanted to expand the capabilities and improve the overall workflows in the product. However, we soon realized we needed a clean slate to allow us to easily add new features and functionality. We also spent a significant amount of time with business aviation professionals and you, our valued customers, to learn how we could improve the core product. The results of this effort culminate in Flight Bag Pro.

Q: How long can I continue to use the myGDC app?

A: To ensure that our Flight Services mobile applications meet all of your important flight operation needs, we are extending the sunset date of the myGDC iOS app to 2018.

Q: Will Honeywell continue to support the myGDC iPad app?

A: Sometime in early 2018, the myGDC app will be sunset and Honeywell will no longer support the app. Please stay tuned for more transition announcements in 2018.

Q: What happens to all my personal and downloaded data in the myGDC app?

A: All Trip Kits can be re-downloaded in the new Flight Bag Pro app, however, annotations and notes will not be saved. Furthermore, all the downloaded data (navigation, charts, etc.) must be re-downloaded in Flight Bag Pro. Once you have migrated to Flight Bag Pro, you can delete the myGDC app and data from your iPad.

Q: Will Flight Bag Pro sync data with myGDC?

A: The only data that is shared between Flight Bag Pro and myGDC is your flight schedule. After signing in to Flight Bag Pro, your flight schedule will automatically sync to the new app.

Q: Do I have to re-download my Trip Kits, charts, and navigation data?

A: Because Flight Bag Pro is a new and separate app, you are required to download Trip Kits, charts, and navigation data after installing the app. However, after signing in to Flight Bag Pro, your flight schedule will automatically sync to the new app.
